Prose Essay

Time flies so fast. It seems like that within a blink of an eye. Everything has now passed away, leaving memories that can never be forgotten throughout life. The happiness that comes by remembering all those memories can never be ignored, and this is what we feel attracted to throughout our life. I have always been an apple of the eye for family, and they have ever tried their best to give me everything that I have wished for, although it is hard to obtain. Sports was something that has appealed to me since my childhood. My parents knew my interest in the games, and they have always encouraged me to try out every game. I know the reason behind this effort was to make me as brave as lions. I still cannot forget the winds of the cold breezes reaching out to us in the morning of the day when I use to practice for hockey. I have been playing hockey since I was four years old.

My interest in this game was a gift from my father. He tried his best to transfer all those skills within me. He told me that time and tide wait for none. The king of the game should believe in himself. He makes sure that his fears and challenges are answered with power and willingness to overcome and achieve what one has wished. Days and night seemed nothing to me because I was so involved in the storm formed within me, having the fire of victory and becoming the champion of what I have valued throughout my childhood. Time was the partner for me because back then, this was the only thing that I had with me. My childhood team was more than a blessing to me, and I tried my best to settle in for a more extended period before it was too late for all of them. I had played for the same team for 12 years, growing up with my dreams. To fulfill my desire, I spend two years in Chicago playing hockey, but inside, I knew that there are miles to go, so I just kept walking all the way long. Now standing at a platform that sounds like a drum to me makes me feel more motivated, but the distance with the family makes me sad. Arizona State University was never less than a dream. I had what I wanted. But deep inside, there was a fear that runs throughout my veins like blood and the fastening the heartbeat. Deep sighs were the indication of a new challenge entering my world.

My challenges were clear in front of my eyes, yet I pretended as if I am unable to see them. That moment I wished if I can fly back to what I had previously and feel all the happiness again. A drop of tear ran over my eyes and splashed back in the lake.  Nothing happened from outside, but inside, I was battling with the fear of losing everything. That sleep was a thunder night. But how can we deny the hope that comes with the rise of the sun? The next morning when I woke up, I had new a feeling that I was raised to be a lion, I cannot think of losing everything quickly. I went out to meet new people, to know them, and to build away in the forest for my survival and success. I dedicated my early time to the training, to understand more about hockey and top build a connection that can last forever. That sound of the hockey hitting the ball was so pleasing to my ear that I can still hear and feel it. Moments spend on the ground are engraved in mind and can never be deleted. Whenever the flashback comes into my mind, mu internal satisfaction reaches as high as the peak of the largest mountain.

I never knew that it is not at all challenging to interact with people of your age. Everyone almost feels the beauty of friendship. Then why did not I trusted the fact and started working on making friendly relationships? I wonder as if I am as funny as a monkey. So, this was the day when my story began. All of my best friends that I had back at my place, I was trying to find people with the same nature. Now, when I look back, I understand that the difference was because of the level of understanding that is reflected as you grow older. New boys were older and were very welcoming. Smiles on their faces while meeting me was as fresh as a blooming flower that spreads fragrance miles away. They understood the depth of fear and the willingness that I had to give the best for my future. They were the steps to success. They had the answer to every question. Playing hockey with them was a different experience for me, like a task that never hit me before. They although never spoke a single word, but their actions showed me everything. They told me the way to the new freedom that passes through the valley of death, and that valley was the ground where I had to prove my passion for the hockey games. They, through their significant gestures, made me a part of the team. We are more like a family, and I felt so comfortable sending my most of the time with them.

Through all those years, my laughs and my sorrows were not shared, and I had no idea that sharing would double the value of happiness.  I had this feeling that the skies are clear from now on. My targets, my achievements, my wishes were fulfilled.  I was wondering as if I am still dreaming. To me, hockey was a game, but as time passed by, it made me realized that hockey taught me many lessons in my life. It helped me in meeting new people and overcoming my fears because of which I was able to find out myself in the dark and shallow space. I felt so comfortable while moving out with all those boys. We were like a family. The feeling of receiving value from people with the same goals and targets was something that I never felt before. My weakness was converted into my success. I was always a competitive student, but now I’m more like a family to them, and they are like a family to me. The love for hockey and spending time with new friends was growing stronger every day, and I started having fun when I was playing hockey and not thinking about anything else. Throughout my experience, I had learned if the skin of the tree is smooth or rough, but this was the time when I learned that tree is meant to give shadow that never leaves you alone.
