Detailed Brief for Individual/Group Assessment
Assignment Title: Constructed Life-Cycle Study of the Business ‘Missoma’.

Description of the assignment:

Starting with the ‘Missoma’ article dated 7th of July 2019. (How We Made It: Marisa Hordern, founder of Missoma, The Sunday Times in Studynet Module reading)

Write a single 2000 word report on the following:

Whilst applying your academic reading, to information you find about Missoma, and the environment it has operated, and is operating in, construct a ‘Life-cycle’ study of the business, which critically analyses it’s development, from it’s beginning through to it’s future growth potential, taking into consideration the possible difficulties previously faced and those that might be faced going forward in the near future.

Each submission must be 2000 words (or very close) in total. More background research will be needed, beyond above mentioned case study article, to include extended secondary research about the company and the company’s own website https://www.Missoma.com/. Work must also be blended with and supported by appropriate syllabus related academic reading.

All work must be fully referenced, using Harvard Referencing to acknowledge sources. This is important in distinguishing between other peoples’ thoughts and ideas compared to your own.

Any specific instructions:

Approach to the work: By ‘construct’, this means it will include building your own lifecycle ‘figure’ for the business, to aid communication, illustrating how you understand the journey the business has taken, and report on this. You are creating a ‘Life-cycle study of the business’. You are analysing the Business and must draw upon and use a variety of tools to help you to do this. It is not an exercise in simply attaching case material to existing theoretical life-cycle models/frameworks. A search of literature, for extended reading, will reveal many tools you can draw from with some material being very recent. Look at this from the business perspective, analysing the business. The more you read and understand the tools available to you the more equipped you are to provide an understanding of the journey for this business. Synthesis of reading must include additional environmental/contextual secondary research and additional case data/information with principles/syllabus that relates to stages in the business’ development.

Presentation and structure: Point size 12, Times Roman, single line spacing, with clear paragraphing, section numbering and headings, subheadings and page numbering. No Executive Summary is needed, just a brief introduction and headings in line with how you see the lifecycle of this business having developed, finishing with recommendations on how you see the business going forward in future.

Table of Contents, Figures, Tables, Glossary of Terms and other Appendices to support your analysis and ideas, can be used without effect on word count (But only for supporting material and not as a means to increase word count).  Headings, sub-headings and references also do not effect word count.
