On the assumption that the science has discovered and identified gene ASF that is associated with the increased risk in the adult antisocial behavior and that persons with genes are five timed likely to commit a felony from the age of 18-30 compared the individuals without , various measure should put in place. The government will also need to be involved but in controlled parameter. Scholars have noted that in the past the government has used scientific and genetic information to suppress human rights in the name of creating a safe environment for people (Rushefsky, 2014).. For instance, phrenology has been misused in the past where individuals were judged based on the pre-studied shape of their skull and activities of the brain and this result in massive violation of human rights (Hershenson, 2008). For instance, in Germany during the Dark Age, the shape of the skull was used to judge the possible intelligence, behavior of individuals and it was used by the European to justify the position of the lesser race (Danziger, 2009). It was extensively used by the Germany government to situate people in specific place in the society. However, it was later discovered to be a fraud as there were no other parameters were applied (Rafter, 2005).
Notably, in the creation of a policy that is of this magnitude, it worth noting that the gene antisocial factor is not a disorder. Therefore, ultimate care should be taken to avoid discriminating against individual who have the disorder. In this regard, it is not good to rely much on the probability provided by the scientific discovery in judging the future behavior of people and prohibit them from enjoying normal life. Notably, this is a possibility thus it s not a must that the individual diagnosed with the gene will end up committing a felony in the future.
Regarding the above notion, the policy that should be created should be rational by factoring human rights and the will of the government to fight against. Therefore, parameter should be placed on when, why and how the testing should be done and how it should be used.
The first sensitive issue is whether the government should create been allowed to test for the gene. In this regard, the government should be allowed to test for the gene. This is because in most cases people who have committed felony display excessive sign of antisocial behavior and it good to know all the variables to know how to help them. However, this action should be done for the individual who have already committed a felony to know the next line of action. No normal person should be tested by the government without their consent or that of their caregiver despite the extent by which an individual shows signs of antisocial behavior. Still on the same notion, the government should only test an individual based on recommendation of a skilled psychologist who have excellent abilities to evaluate the behavior of an individual. On the same notion, this test should be used along other tests that determine the behavior of an individual to ensure that test is consistent with the behavior of the individual.
The government involvement in the testing should be done in special facilities and only for the individual who display extreme cases of antisocial behavior. The activities should overseen by other non-government institution to ensure that there is no a possible violation of human rights.
